A delegation representing the Board of Deputies of British Jews met yesterday with Goronwy Roberts, Minister of State at the Foreign Office, to solicit the Government’s support in helping harassed and imperiled Jews in some Eastern European and Arab countries. The delegation, headed by Michael M. Fidler, president of the Board, reported that Mr. Roberts expressed concern and sympathy with the humanitarian issues involved and that further meetings with Foreign Office officials will take place. The delegation spoke of the anti-Semitic campaign, in the guise of “anti-Zionism,” which is being conducted by the Polish Government and the forthcoming trials of Jewish students there.
