Leading English labor leaders interceded with the Polish embassy here for the release of Dr. Joseph Kruk, Polish Jewish labor leader, who was sentenced to imprisonment by the Polish court.
A letter to this effect was addressed to the secretary of the Polish Legation by the Independent Labor Party. The letter, which was signed by James Maxton, head of the party, Professor Harold J. Laski, Bertrand Russell, Maude Royden, the Countess of Warwick, Mrs. Beatrice Webb and others, declares that they are all impressed by the sincerity and fine personality of Dr. Kruk.
