The Transport and General Workers Union in the Channel Islands revived today the controversy over a Battle of Britain commemorative stamp, containing a swastika in its design, by calling for a boycott of the issue.
The stamp, to be issued September 13, shows a downed German plane with a swastika on its tail. The British Government rejected six requests in the House of Commons and the House of Lords for withdrawal of the stamp or for a change in the design. The Board of Deputies of British Jews has complained on the issue, without success.
