An Israel-British civil aeronautical agreement was signed here today in the office of Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin. The pact was signed by Secretary Bevin for Britain and Minister Eliahu Elath for the Jewish state. After he signed the pact, Secretary Bevin, noted for his opposition to the release of Israel from Mandatory status, declared that this had been a “very happy day” for him. This was the first time that Mr. Bevin signed a document which was written in Hebrew.
