The Middle sex County Council had under consideration today a decision on whether to order a local council to terminate the lease of a golf club accused of barring Jews from membership.
The issue was brought to the county council’s attention by Mrs. Joyce Clyne, a non-Jewish member of the club who said that while she was not Jewish, she was bringing up the matter because she felt that “non-Jewish people are more discredited by discrimination than Jews.”
The club, which is in the Jurisdiction of the local council of Rickmas worth, leases its land from the county council at a nominal fee.
