A thousand persons, including a dozen peers, attending a meeting of the National League last night adopted a resolution demanding that the Government send a Royal Commission to investigate current disorders in Palestine and halt immigration until it completes its findings.
The meeting also asked measures to allay present difficulties, and bring about fundamental changes in policy required “to do justice to the Arabs,” criticized the British Government and asked the church to intervene.
Members of a Palestine Arab delegation addressed the meeting. A number of Arab sympathizers attacked the press, charging that it was dominated by Jewish advertisers, and was therefore subordinating the Arab case. Lieut. Col. Waters Taylor presided.
