A British court martial today began hearing charges against Major Ralph H.T. Newman of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, who is accused of having stolen British arms in Palestine in May, 1948, and sold them to Jews there. Maj. Newman pleaded “not guilty,” The court is sitting at Chilwell, Nottinghamshire.
