A bill forbidding racial and religious discrimination in hotels, restaurants, places of entertainment and in all important fields of housing and real estate came up for first reading in the House of Commons today.

The measure was introduced by Fenner Brockway, a member of the Labor Party. In a statement introducing the bill, Mr. Brockway called the attention of the House to the wave of anti-Semitic incidents of last winter, asserting that those incidents were a reminder that legislation making racial and religions bias was a necessity.
