THE LETTER STATES: “IT IS OF SUPREME IMPORTANCE THAT UNIVERSITIES HOLD FAST TO THE PRINCIPLES OF JUSTICE AND EQUALITY WITH ABSOLUTE FIRMNESS IN THE TREATMENT OF STUDENTS WITHOUT PARTIALITY AS TO RACE OR CREED.”
