British Troops Billeted in Rome Hotel Evacuated Following Threat to Blast Building

The Milan Hotel in Rome, in which Royal Air Force troops are billeted, was evacuated for two hours yesterday following the receipt of a telephone call threatening to blow it up.

After a detailed search, during which no explosives were repoted found, the occupants were permitted to re-enter the hotel. Officials believe the hoax was perpetrated by members of the Irgun Zvai Leumi in Italy.
