War Minister Sir James Grigg, speaking in Commons today, charged that the arms smuggling allegedly uncovered in the trials of several Jews recently concluded in Jerusalem, was in a much larger scale than has been usual in Palestine.
Replying to a query by Rear-Admiral T.P.H. Beamish, Conservative from Sussex, Sir James said that “trafficking in arms in Palestine has, unfortunately, always been rife in both communities, but cases of arms smuggling on such a scale have been rare.”
