Tucked away in the beautiful Kentish countryside is the new Hachsharah center established by the English Zionist Federation to train young English Jews and German-Jewish refugees in England for Palestine agriculture.
The new Chalutzim center is the old Ringlestone Farm, near Harrietsham, Kent, which was recently acquired by the Federation. It consists of eighty acres and at present has room for twenty aspiring Chalutzim.
Plans are now under way to increase facilities of the training farm. Instruction includes the care of cattle and poultry as well as general farm work.
Palestine furnishes excellent opportunities for poultry farmers, according to a recent announcement of the Palestine Department of Agriculture, but the department found it necessary to warn prospective poultry farmers that experience is a necessary factor.
