The appointment of Malcolm MacDonald, son of the British ex-Premier as Colonial Secretary, was hailed today by Prof. Selig Brodetsky, member of the World Zionist Executive, addressing a convention of Zionists in France.

“Malcolm MacDonald is a friend of the Zionist movement,” Prof. Brodetsky said. Sixty delegates were present at the convention.

Prof. Brodetsky in the course of his address vigorously protested against the intended establishment of a legislative council in Palestine.

“Such a Council will proclaim the Jews a minority,” he explained. He demanded that Palestine be opened to larger immigration and urged that all forces in Zionism be united.
