Samuel Bronfman, prominent Canadian Jewish leader, and his wife, Mrs. Saidye Bronfman, have established a special, $10,000-a-year gift, for five years, for the encouragement of Canadian artists, it was announced here today.
Under the grant, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts will acquire, each year, outstanding works by native Canadians living in this country or abroad, to help “create a stimulus in the cultural life of the Montreal community.” The announcement was made by Dr. Evan H. Turner, director of the Museum of Fine Arts here.
