Morris Klein of 651 Fox street, the Bronx, New York City, lay in a hospital here today suffering from severe burns, unaware that his younger brother, Jacob, had died in an effort to save him from a Civilian Conservation Corps barracks fire early this morning in which two others were killed.
Morris told hospital attendants he believed Jacob also had escaped.
Other members of the camp revealed that Jacob, who was twenty years old, had died a hero. After he had fought his way clear of the flames, he was unable to find Morris and returned to the flaming barracks, where fellow members of the camp last saw him fighting the blaze with a fire extinguisher, calling for his brother.
