Two Jews are among the 20 Brooklynites who received the largest number of votes among members of the Brooklyn Bar Association for nomination to the Supreme Court this fall. The Association named ten Republicans and ten Democrats and the two Jews are Meier Steinbrink, Republican and Herman S. Bachrach, Democrat. Mr. Steinbrink is considered sure of receiving one of the two nominations allotted to the Republicans for the 12 new places on the Supreme Court in the second district.
Considerable surprise has been expressed that Joseph J. Baker, president of the Jewish Hospital, who is thought to be in line for one of the Democratic nominations, did not appear on the Bar Association’s list.
