Honorable Edward Lazansky, Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, has been appointed honorary chairman of the Emergency Deficit Campaign of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, and Samuel Salzman has been named chairman, according to an announcement made yesterday by Nathan D. Shapiro, president of the organization.
Justice Lazansky, who was one of the founders of the Federation and a former president of the organization, is chairman of the Brooklyn committee on the merger with the Manhattan Federation, while Mr. Salzman is chairman of the Federation’s committee on delinquent accounts, and a member of the Board of the Brooklyn Hebrew Orphan Asylum.
The goal of the campaign is to secure $175,000 in additional cash donations which is the amount necessary to provide a minimum budget for the twenty-five welfare agencies affiliated with the Federation, Mr. Shapiro stated.
