The Jewish Community Council of Brooklyn adopted a resolution today urging Americans not to purchase Toyota cars or travel by Japan Air Lines because of those firms’ alleged compliance with the Arab boycott of Israel. The resolution made the point that the Nissan Motor Co, of Japan, manufacturer of the Datsun car, has changed its policy toward trade with Israel and was not included in the boycott call. State Supreme Court Justice Abraham J, Multer, Council president, said that JAL had failed to follow through on a 1967 agreement to open discussions on a mutual air agreement with Israel because of the Arab boycott. According to Multer, Toyota denied cooperation with the Arab boycott in 1968 but nevertheless refused to do business with Israel.
