The Brooklyn Jewish Hospital treated 56,519 persons during the past year, which was the first year of residence in its new 650-bed building, and has given more free service than any other non-municipal hospital in Brooklyn. This was the statement made by Joseph J. Baker, president of the hospital, in his report rendered Tuesday night at the annual meeting held in the hospital’s auditorium.
The hospital’s dispensary had 137,797 visits during 1929, said Mr. Baker.
Health Commissioner Wynne, who was the principal guest speaker at the meeting, praised the directors and staff of the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital for splendid service and management. The officers of the hospital who were reelected at Tuesday’s meeting are: Joseph J. Baker, president; Sidney Weinburg, vice-president, and chairman of the executive committee; Louis M. Strauss, treasurer; Isador Isaacsen, secretary.
