The Corporal Sidney Rosenberg post of the American Legion at Brooklyn has sent a protest to the Executive Committee of the Legion against its action in inviting the Polish General Haller to be its convention guest.
The protest instances a number of outbreaks against Jews in which Haller’s troops were the offenders.
In a statement in New York on his arrival here, General Haller denied responsibility for anti-Jewish excesses. He admitted that his soldiers had perpetrated such deeds against the Jews. but said that at the time he was not with his command. Other excesses, he said, had been committed by his soldiers, while under the influence of intoxicants and he declared he could not be responsible for what drunken men do.
