Rabbi Hyman Abrams of Congregation Eitz Chain Machzikay Hadass, 1479 Lincoln Place, Brooklyn, yesterday rescued his two-year-old daughter from their home adjoining the synagogue, when fire broke out and partially destroyed the house.
Rabbi Abrams and his wife had stepped out just before noon, leaving the child sleeping. When Rabbi Abrams returned shortly afternoon, the house was in flames.
Shielding his face with a moistened handkerchief, the rabbi dashed up the burning staircase, wrapped the baby in a blanket and brought her to safety.
