Former Congressman Brooks Hays, currently on leave as Special Assistant to President Kennedy, has been named national chairman of Brotherhood Week to be observed next February 16-23, it was announced today. by Dr. Lewis Webster Jones, president of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, sponsors of the observance.
Mr. Hays will lead the 31st celebration of Brotherhood Week which was first organized in 1933 as a special period when Americans of all religious groups might focus their attention on the problem of living together in good will and understanding, Dr. Jones said.
