Isaac Kritscher, of 80 Tenth Street, Williamsburgh, received word through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency this week that his brother Moshe, a clothing merchant living in Havana, was attacked by a vandal mob there. The victim was reported seriously injured.
Mr. Kritscher requested the J. T. A. to make inquiries through its cable facilities regarding the condition of the Cuban Jew, who has been a resident of the island for about nine years. The following message was received at the offices of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency yesterday:
“The condition of Moshe Kritscher, reported wounded last Sunday in an attack on his shop, is improving and attending physicians declared that there was hope of saving his life.”
When the message was delivered, Mr. Kritscher said:
“I am happy to hear this.” He expressed gratitude to the J. T. A.
Kritscher had been reported fatally wounded when a squad of soldiers armed with machine-guns, invaded his store on Sunday. Two Havana Jews, Julio Kleindorf and Mottel Turtshinski, who were in the store at the time, were slain by the mob.
