Funeral services will beheld here Wednesday for the late Dr. Bruno Weil, former German attorney, one of the topmost leaders of German Jewry prior to the Hitler regime, and president of the Axis Victim’s League, who died here. He was 78.
Formerly a vice-president of the Central-Verein, the central representative body of Jews in pre-Nazi Germany, Dr. Weil was the only Jewish candidate for the Reichstag in 1932, being defeated by Josef Goebbels, propaganda chief for the Nazis. He fled to Argentina in 1935 but, in 1940, while visiting France, was arrested and interned in a concentration camp by the Nazis. He was released three months later and came to this country.
