Arabs in Mexico City are spreading a rumor ?at the murder here this week of a Jew is “the beginning of Arab revenge” for the es?blishment of a Jewish State in Palestine.
The Jew, Solomon Sikri, was found dead in Honduras Street, the Arab commercial ?ter of the city. Although a police investigation established that the motive of the ?rder was robbery, Arab propagandists are utilizing the incident to warn that “many ?re Jews in Mexico will pay with their life for the United Nations partition decision.”
Zionist circles dismiss as “bluff” the statements by Arab spokesmen that a ?mber of Arabs in Mexico will soon proceed to Palestine as “volunteers” to fight ?ainst the Jews, The press here approves the attitude of the Mexican delegates at ? United Nations who abstained from voting on the Palestine issue. At the same time ? newspapers display a friendly attitude towards the Arabs and are publishing con?derable Arab propaganda.
