Moving to enforce Premier Tatarescu’s newly-announced policy of suppressing Fascist violence, police today held under arrest four important members of the anti-Semitic Iron Guard, charged with kidnaping and torturing the president of the Liberal University Students’ Union.

Mr. Tatarescu, now also Interior Minister, said in a statement following reshuffling of the cabinet:

“I will not tolerate the threatening of calm and order by a few agitators. I will not allow the good reputation of this country to be spoiled by lawbreakers. Agitators will be stricken with all the power of the law.”

As Interior Minister, Mr. Tatarescu circularized police chiefs ordering drastic measures for preserving order.
