The Jewish community of Budapest has agreed to supply the Jewish community of Vienna with matzoth for Passover, it was learned here today.
An official of the Budapest community will supervise the baking of the matzoth in a special bakery and will also make all arrangements for transportation, according to an agreement between the two communities. This is the first official contact between the communities since the end of the war.
Representatives of the Agudas Israel here are negotiating- with Austrian publishers to print 1,000,000 shillinge, which the Agudah representatives want to pay for party in hard currency and party in Israeli goods. Other negotiations are under way, it is reported, for the export of large quantities of kosher meat from Austria to Israel.
