The Jewish students at the University of Budapest were informed by the university authorities that they will be able to return to their classes on Thursday.
The authorities will take every possible measure to protect the safety of the Jewish students, it was stated.
This action by the University authorities was the result of an announcement made by the leaders of the Jewish students that they will be compelled to absent themselves from classes until their safety is guaranteed.
An attempt to reconcile the anti-Semitic student leaders to the plans of the government to modify the numerus clausus law was made by Count Teleki. Acting as mediator between the government and the anti-Semitic student body, Teleki explained to their leaders that the numerus clausus reform is considered by the government an unavoidable measure necessitated by Hungary’s foreign policy, without any internal significance, however.
