Dr. Lazslo Nagy, secretary-general of the Zionist Federation of Hungary, today denied reports published by various Budapest newspapers that large numbers of Hungarian Jews who settled in Palestine are seeking to return to this country.
Dr. Nagy declared that anti-Zionist groups in Hungary are attempting to exploit recent unrest in Palestine and are circulating this “irresponsible and tendencious allegation.” He said the number of Jews in Palestine who desire to return to Hungary is very small.
It was revealed today that a Hungarian-Palestine chamber of commerce has been founded here to re-establish trade and industrial contacts which were broken off between the two nations during the war.
