A Buenos Aires chapter of the Rabbinical Assembly, the association of Conservative rabbis, has been established here at a meeting attended by a delegation of Conservative rabbis from the United States and several Latin American countries.
Rabbi Wolfe Kelman of New York, Rabbinical Assembly executive vice-president, who headed the delegation, stressed that nine local Conservative rabbis came here for the meeting. Rabbi Marshal Meyer has been designated provisional chairman of the new chapter. Rabbi Victor Mirelman was named provisional secretary. The meeting heard a report that Conservative rabbis were now established in Mexico, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. American conservative rabbis in the delegation, which represented the World Council of Synagogues, included Lewis Grossman and Reuben Magil of Philadelphia and Meyer Rubin of Brookline, Mass.
