Herman Wile, the grand old man of Buffalo Jewry, will be feted by his friends at a testimonial dinner on the occasion of his seventieth birthday at the Montefiore Club next Sunday evening. Jacob L. Davis, city assessor and former councilman is chairman of the arrangements committee.
Mr. Wile is known throughout the United States for his work in various relief and educational institutions. He is president of Temple Beth Zion and the Bureau of Jewish Education of Buffalo; officer and director of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations; officer and director of the National Jewish Hospital at Denver and is either an officer or director of almost every national relief organization in the United States and Canada. It is expected that the testimonial dinner will be attended by well known Jews and non-Jews of Buffalo and the vicinity.
