The United Jewish Appeal will be the major beneficiary in a campaign to be launched here Sunday evening, it was announced today by Stanley G. Falk, chairman. Buffalo is one of the first cities in the United States to conduct a United Jewish Appeal drive in 1935.
Officers of the campaign, in addition to Mr. Falk, are Howard T. Saperston, vice – chairman; Louis Maisel, treasurer, and Arthur I. Goldberg, publicity director.
The drive will open with a dinner which will have as its guest speakers Dr. Jacob Billikopf, chairman of the Philadelphia Regional Labor Board, and James Waterman Wise, editor of “Opinion.”
Jacob de Velosino was the first Hebrew author born on American soil.
