Bulgaria Imposes Million Leva Fine Upon Jews for Violating Anti-jewish Laws

Fines of one million leva, approximately $12,000 at the pre-war rate of exchange, have been imposed in Sofia upon nineteen Jews on the pretext that they violated the anti-Jewish laws, it was reported today ever the Rome radio.

Another report stated that following the intervention of the leaders of the church in Bulgaria, the government decided to exempt from wearing the Mogen David all Jews who have been converted to the Greek-Orthodox, Catholic or Protestant religions.
