Bulgarian Jews residing abroad who do not return to Bulgaria prior to the date when the law obligating Jews to sell their real estate to the government becomes effective, will have their property confiscated, the tribune de Geneva, a Swiss newspaper reports today.
The paper states that the Bulgarian Government, while permitting Jews to reside in private dwellings, will “purchase” all Jewish buildings in the country exchange for bonds which cannot be redeemed for a number of years, but which will bear an annual interest of three percent.
