The Bulgarian Government today granted 2,000,000 levas (approximately $7,000) worth of materials to two Jewish cooperatives established by the Joint Distribution Committee as part of its program for the economic reconstruction of the Jewish population.
The materials went to a tailoring and a shoe making cooperative. The reconstruction program calls for the importation of large quantities of machinery and equipment to establish many more cooperatives and rehabilitate Jewish economy this year.
