Bulgarian Jews Protest Roumanian Excesses

A mass meeting arranged by the Jewish organizations in Bulgaria, was held last night to protest against the anti-Jewish excesses in Roumania. Five thousand persons attended the meeting at the Theatre Renaissance.

Jewish stores were closed as a sign of protest. The speakers at the meeting sharply criticized the attitude of the Roumanian government. Resolutions were adopted and will be forwarded to the League of Nations.

Contributions totalling $55,000 were announced at a dinner meeting of the Harlem and Yorkville Division of the United Palestine Appeal at the Hotel Astor Tuesday. The largest individual contribution was from Jacob Siegel, who gave $5,000. The district’s quota is $150,000.
