The new Bulgarian Cabinet, formed during the week-end under pressure from Berlin, will intensify the anti-Jewish restrictions existing in the country, it was announced last night by the Bulgarian Premier, Bodgan Philoff, in a broadcast over the Sofia radio.
Outlining the program of his new government, Premier Philoff said that one of its principal points will be stricter enforcement of the anti-Jewish laws. “This,” he explained, “is necessary for the protection of our nation.” He also announced that the new government will concentrate on “liquidating” all liberal and democratic elements in the country who oppose Bulgarian cooperation with the Axis.
