General Stoytcheff, former commander of the Bulgarian First Army, which fought with the Russians against the Nazis, who has just been appointed the Bulgarian representative in Washington, today told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that “every honest Bulgarian officer opposed the unjust measures taken by the former fascist government against the Jews.” He paid tribute to the Jews who had served under him, declaring that they had been excellent soldiers.
