War Secretary Leslie Hore-Belisha resigned from the British cabinet tonight. The resignation was accepted, it was announced officially, and Oliver Stanley, president of the Board of Trade, was named in his place. Hore-Belisha, who was named War Minister May 28, 1937, was the first Jew to have held that post and the fifth in modern times to have attained Cabinet rank. He is 41.
