Letters and telegrams continued to pour into the offices of The Jewish Daily Bulletin at 221 Centre St., yesterday, congratulating the publisher, Jacob Landau, and American Jewry itself upon the enlargement of The Jewish Daily Bulletin to tabloid size daily. From every section of the country, statements, letters and telegrams are being received from prominent American Jewish leaders.
In the metropolitan area, newsstands and dealers everywhere reported a great demand for The Bulletin. One dealer telephoned the office of the paper to report that he had sold out all his copies but one. That one he insisted upon keeping for himself.
The interest aroused by this new departure in American Jewish journalism is attested by the following excerpts from some of the letters received yesterday:
Dear Mr. Landau:
I had read with interest accounts in the paper relative to the progress of The Bulletin and I was pleased to learn that Mr. Herman Bernstein had been selected as Editor.
My heartiest congratulations to you with the sincere wish that your paper may carry on and become an ever greater and more important factor to the people of the City of New York.
Mitchell May.
Dear Mr. Landau:
My sincerest congratulations upon the completion of your plans for an enlarged Jewish Daily in the format of a daily newspaper under the editorship of one with such recognized fine ability as that of Mr. Herman Bernstein.
Henry Monsky.
Omaha, Neb.
Dear Mr. Landau:
It is indeed significant news for all American Jewry that the Jewish Daily Bulletin will appear in the enlarged format of a daily newspaper under the editorship of Mr. Herman Bernstein.
Barnett R. Brickner.
Cleveland, O.
Dear Mr. Landau:
