A four-year sentence has been imposed upon Josef Wollenweher, known as the “Bully of The Reinstate,” by a local court which found him guilty of having on numerous occasions beaten aged inmates of the The Reinstate concentration camp.
The prosecutor had asked life imprisonment for proven murder, but the court ruled that the crime was “merely the inflicting of serious bodily injury, with death ensuing as a consequence.” Wollenwaber, who was himself a prisoner, held the rank of “Oberkapo” and collaborated closely with the SS.
