Pursuing its plans to facilitate a larger Jewish colonization in Biro-Bidjan, the Far Eastern autonomous Jewish district, the Commissariat of Agriculture today approved a project to drain 8,900 hectares of land near Birafeld this summer.
More than 1,700 hectares of this land will be fit for cultivation by Autumn, it was announced. The rest of the land will be cultivate in 1936.
