Biro-Bidjan, the autonomous Jewish territory in the Soviet Far East, has no desire to become a second Palestine, it was declared today at a conference in Minsk of Ozet, society for the settlement of Jews on the land.
The statement was made by the secretary of the organization who pointed out that the territory’s functions were not to save the Jewish masses in foreign countries, but only to recruit Jewish workers in certain professions which at the present time are not sufficiently represented in Biro-Bidjan.
