Through the efforts of Jersey City Post of the Jewish War Veterans of America, the Hudson County Board of Freeholders has purchased a piece of ground in a Jewish cemetery as a place of burial for deceased veterans whose families are indigent.
The plot is large enough to accommodate fifty graves. The county officials had already provided burial plots for indigent veterans of the Catholic or Protestant faiths, but up to now provision had not been made for Jewish veterans. It is announced that the veterans’ Post will beautify the ploterect a fence and monument, and dedicate it as a shrine for annual memorial services.
