A busy week for Ivriah, the women’s division of the Jewsih Education Association is in store next week.
On Monday afternoon, February 26, th West Side.division will meet at the Rutgers Club, 314 West 91st street, to hear Professor Max Winkler of City College discuss “The Nazi Menace to Western Civilization.” On Tuesday afternoon an executive committee meeting will be held in the Federation Building, 71 West 47th street, to discuss plans and activities for the remainder of the season. On Tuesday evening, a gala Purim Party will be given at the Maspeth Jewish Center, Grand and Juniper streets, Maspeth. The guest speaker will be Mrs. Rose Jacobson.
Another meeting will be held on Tueday evening at the Cornelia Street Congregation, Ridgewood, at which Mrs. Samuel E. Stein will speak on “The NRA As Applied to Judaism.” On Thursdaty afternoon the Washington Heights group will give a Purim cared party at the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, 1560 Amsterdam avenue.
POSTER CONTEST SPONSORED BY MENORAH AND AVAKAH
In line with the policy of the administration of Hunter College to adorn the walls of the buildings with beautiful pictures, the Hunder Menorah and Avukah Societies are sponsoring a Poste contest which will close on March 1. The two socienties wish to adopt an afficial poster which will express the thrue spirit of the Jewish clubs in the school.
61ST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Davis of 690 West 163rd street today celebreate their sixty-first wedding anniversary.
The celebration will be strictly private. Their children and grandchildrn will attend.
