Uri Geller, the 26-year-old Israeli who claims to have telepathic powers and the ability to bend forks, nails and keys by the force of his mind, may soon be put to the supreme test if his latest prediction materializes. According to Geller, a war will erupt in the Middle East sometime between Nov. 10 and Dec.12, but he isn’t sure of the exact day and hour.
The Jerusalem Post, which reported his prediction, quoted a senior Defense Ministry official here as saying that Geller had contacted the Israeli purchasing mission in the U.S. last week with an urgent message that war would break out in the Mideast. The message was passed on to the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv.
The Post added: “It was suggested that in the event of Geller’s prophecy proving true, he could be employed bending Soviet-made SAM missiles used by the Arabs.” There was no immediate indication who made the suggestion or whether Geller is prepared to undertake the greatest bending act of all time.
