“buy Arab” Drive Launched in Palestine

Arab leaders launched a “buy Arab” campaign today, calling on the population to boycott Jewish enterprises and urging native merchants to import their wares from foreign Arab countries.

A newly-organized National Arab Committee met in Jerusalem to plan a campaign to popularize Arab-made products among the population. Al Adifaa, Arabic daily, reported that Arab merchants had agreed to contribute $10 a month each to support the propaganda drive.

Abukader Bey Husseini, regarded by the Palestine authorities as “Public Enemy No. 2,” went on trial for possession of arms after being wounded near the village of Kadr in an engagement of his band with British troops, He was held under $1,200 bail.

Three Jewish huts were set afire in the colony of Benjamina.
