A campaign for $75,000 for a new Jewish Home for the Aged was opened here. Circuit Judge Charles I. Aarous of this city addressed 300 workers at the opening luncheon, while Mrs. Sig. Ruscha, chairman of the workers committee, instructed the workers for what is expected to be one of the most popular campaigns ever held in the Milwaukee Jewish community.

The drive received impetus with the announcement that a gift of $10,000 had been made by Nat Stone, vice-chairman of the drive and president of the Federated Jewish Charities.

Mr. Stone’s gift was the result of an offer to double the largest gift in the drive. So far the largest is that of $5,000 donated by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Greenwald.

The present Home for the Aged here has been for years inadequate.

The new building will contain single and double rooms to accommodate approximately 40 inmates together with a small auditorium to be used for religious worship. An infirmary for the incurably ill will be housed in a wing of the building.

The new addition of the Home for Dependant Jewish Children was dedicated here last week with Rabbis S. I. Scheinfeld, Charles Taylor and Philip Klein as principal speakers.
