Two Cabinet members and a personal advisor to President de Gaulle were among the 20 French leaders who attended an Israel Independence Day celebration here today on invitation from Walter Eytan, the Israel Ambassador to France. The Cabinet members were Louis Joxe, Minister for National Planning, and Jean Sainteny, Minister for War Victims, Former Combatants and War Veterans. R. Durin de Rozieres, the Presidents special advisor for political affairs, the secretary-general of the Presidents Office, was the third French Government personality.
The luncheon event also was attended by former Premiers Pierre Mendes-France and M. Bourges-Manoury, as well as Gabrielle Dorbussin, the Senegalese Ambassador, and Dr. Nahum Goldmann. The French leaders toasted Israelis independence and expressed best wishes for Israelis success and prosperity. A number of similar luncheons have been scheduled for the week with other prominent French personalities, including additional Ministers.
