Rene Cattaui Bey has been elected president of the Cairo Jewish Community to succeed his late father, Joseph Cattaui, it was announced here today. Mr. Cattaui is the only Jewish member of the Egyptian Chamber of Deputies. His father, at different times, held the posts of Minister of Finance and Minister of Communications in the Egyptian Government. The new president is 47.
